FELA Booklet

HUNEGS, STONE, LENEAVE, KVAS & THORNTON, P.A.

While searching for a highly qualified Law Firm to protect your rights and interests, it will be helpful for you to have information on the background and history of our firm.

Our founder, William DeParcq, was himself an injury victim. At the age of 18, he was crippled in a car collision. Although disabled, he worked his way through law school and ultimately began his law practice, fully understanding the needs of the injured. Mr. DeParcq also served in the Minnesota Legislature and is a published expert in railroad workers injury law, the Federal Employers´ Liability Act (FELA).

Through the years the firm grew to include Richard Hunegs, Ralph Koenig, Robert Stone,  Randal LeNeave, Cortney LeNeave, William Kvas, George Thornton, Richard Carlson and Steven Hunegs. Each attorney is an aggressive trial lawyer, allowing them to make strong compensation demands on your behalf.

Our clients are also supported by experienced railroad field investigators.

Willis Croonquist, Supervisor of Investigations, came to our firm with over thirty years of railroad and railroad related union experience. He served as Director of the Minnesota State Legislative Board for the United Transportation Union and as Assistant Director of the National Legislative Board for the UTU in Washington, D. C. His knowledge of rules, regulations and practices of the railroad industry is a valuable asset when evaluating and preparing a FELA claim.

Will Snell joined our staff in 1991. His more than 35 years of railroad experience, including 20 years as General Chairman for the IAM&AW, ensures that you are dealing with someone who not only understands the railroad but is familiar with the problems railroad employees face every day. As a General Chairman he represented hundreds of employees involved in railroad accidents and knows, first hand, how the railroads attempt to avoid responsibility by accusing the injured employee of violating safety rules.

Hunegs, Stone, LeNeave, Kvas & Thornton, P.A. has the confidence that experience gives. We make strong demands to the Railroads and back them up with talented experts and trial lawyers who will fight for you and your family.

At Hunegs, Stone, LeNeave, Kvas & Thornton our first concern is providing you with the personal attention you need. There is no charge for conferences concerning your problem. We will give you advice to help you resolve the situation or we will set up an appointment with you to discuss a more complicated matter. What is important is that we will help you get the information you need to make an informed decision and protect your rights.

Our concern is about your future - not just your case. When you work with our firm, an attorney will handle your case each step of the way. We have helped thousands of clients with their legal problems, but more importantly, we have also helped them put their lives back together. Personal injury and the associated legal problems are often not isolated matters. We can help you get necessary medical treatment including referrals to specialists, emotional or employment counseling, and work with creditors to get your bills paid. It is important to us, not only to get your case resolved, but to do everything we can to help you and your family get back on track.
